2020 - surf's up! We never stop creating... and we never stop making time to play!  If there's sand and waves, we're there!  That's how we found Leilani... surfing at Ho'okipa Beach Park in Paia, Maui.  Born on Maui, a Fine Art degree from the University of Hawaii, we couldn't talk her into leaving her native home (who could blame her?). So we opened an office just up the road from the beach and started finding projects in the resorts and hotels on the islands of Hawaii and in the Pacific Rim region.

It started with a surf trip to Costa Rica... a chance meeting on the beach... a visit to a Cayman art gallery... more surfing on Maui... and a "magical" connection that made us all 'Ohana - "family" in Hawaiian.

2002 - The BEGINNING. James began Shoreline Group by partnering with some of the most recognized artists in the world to provide unparalleled licensing and distribution opportunities.  Over the years, he rode the waves with a variety of art and home decor companies in Europe, Asia, Mexico, the U.S. and Canada, supplying artwork and decor items to hotels, corporate offices and retailers everywhere.  He printed and sold a lot of art... and was really tired of it all.  That was then.

today - 'Ohana! We feel blessed to be the "family" that we are... spouses, children, grandparents, dogs, cats, fish and all.  Out of a bunch of random chance encounters, we've created something special that is fun, edgy, and full of the energy of surf, sky, sand and sea.  We're all partners; there is no boss.  We just work together, enjoy each other's company and figure it out.  Together (and with our crazy, committed crew) we travel to our favorite sunsets around the world (surfboards in tow), working with resorts and 5-star boutique hotels specializing in finding unique decor items and works of art that capture the feeling and style of the incredible environments in which we work and play.

Our Story

2018 - NEW WAVES. Just as the sun was setting and a new chapter in life was unfolding, James took a surf trip to Coast Rica and met Chiara (and her family) walking down the beach of Playa Grande.  With a love of art and a degree from the Florence Institute of Interior Design, she brought a fresh artistic eye to the unique environments of coastal and tropical settings.  Long "Zoom" calls from her home on the Italian Coast to James in San Francisco, ended with a shared vision for decorating the places they love in exotic locations around the world.

2019 - carribean connection: While working on a hotel project in the Cayman Islands, James, Chiara and their families, wandered into an art gallery in Grand Cayman and met Isabelle.  With a Fine Art degree from the University of the West Indies, she was the perfect addition to our efforts in the Caribbean.  Today she manages a crew of designers and installers from our office in Grand Cayman, who travel throughout the Caribbean finding new projects, decor items and works of art that capture the spirit of the Islands.
